Community and Global Missions
Family Promise (formerly Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network or WIHN) - cares for homeless families in transition to work and housing. Our church has volunteered to keep one apartment on Method Road furnished. Families may live there one year, as they work, beginning at a very low rent and increasing to end of year, so that they are able to pay standard apartments just before leaving subsidized housing. The families must attend budgeting sessions during the course of that year.
Adopt a Village - helping children in Tanzania, who have been orphaned, and are needing assistance with food and education fees through the Primary Grades. We have now undertaken to help a select few who wish to attend Secondary School. Funds are sent annually for these two projects.
The Moravian Board of World Missions - "The BWM is about the work of God in the world through serving and sending God’s children to bring others to know and follow Christ. We disciple people in mission by walking with individuals, churches, and global partners so that together we may provide opportunities for people to know and follow Christ; and be God’s instruments of grace, peace and justice in the world."
