Will you share God’s talents?
Talents (Matthew 25:14-21) are given to be used. And, each year at this time, each of us at Raleigh Moravian is asked to reflect on ways that we can best use the talents God has given us. This year is no exception. There are ways each of us can contribute to enriching the life of our community - both in and around Raleigh Moravian. Musical? Would you enjoy being part of one of our Choir groups? Or the brass band? Love to cook? It’s no secret that Moravians love good food, and we love to share it with others. Preparing or serving, there are plenty of opportunities. Love to work with your hands? Plenty of opportunity. Like history? There are many ways to contribute. In fact, we have dozens of ways to help you multiply your talents. Check them out in our Time and Talent listing - and decide how you would like to use your talents in the coming year. The rewards are great.
The Flower Shuttle: A Flower Ministry
The Flower Shuttle is an outreach ministry to our community involving "recycled flowers". The concept is similar to The Food Shuttle, except it involves picking up flowers following community events, galas, weddings, and funerals, and rearranging them into smaller vases for delivery to Hospice, nursing homes, hospitals, crisis centers, soup kitchens, and Meals On Wheels, to name a few.
The Flower Shuttle will celebrate six years of operation on April 22, 2012. During that time, weekly volunteers have created more than 80,000 arrangements and delivered them to our neighbors in need.
More information can be found on The Flower Shuttle's website at www.theflowershuttle.com.
